Dyestsuff analyses were performed on 90 kilim samples in the Sivas Atatürk and Ethnography Museum. According to the results of analysis, reports are underway to support their restoration and preservation.
The analyses of a kilim (Inventory number 515) yielded the following;
Light red:
Madder (
Rubia tinctorum L.
) and Dyer's oak (
Quercus infectoria Olivier
) or Valonia oak (
Quercus ithaburensis Decaisne
)
The analyses of a kilim (Inventory number 122) yielded the following;
Black:
Dyer's oak (
Quercus infectoria Olivier
) or Valonia oak (
Quercus ithaburensis Decaisne
)
The analyses of a kilim (Inventory number 152) yielded the following:;
Dark Blue:
Indigo (
Indigofera tinctoria L.
) or Woad (
Isatis tinctoria L.
)
