Analyses of princes’ caftans
Analyses of covers of handwritten books

Dyestuff analysis of textile works of the Ayasofya Museum is underway, and reports to support their restoration and preservation are in preparation.

The analysis of silk brocade (Inventory number 292) yielded the following:
Red: Carminic acid (Dactylopius coccus Costa)
Green: Luteolin, Apegenin (Reseda luteola Weld.), intigotin (Indigofera tinctoria or Isatis tinctoria)
Blue: Indigotin (Indigoferia tinctoria or Isatis tinctoria)
